I am a volunteer at the Rockford Rescue Mission providing chair massage for the women graduating the Pamper and Praise Program and I created a special web site for LMT's; The Alliance of Stateline Massage Therapists where we share information and ideas to assist our brothers in sisters in healing who may still struggling in their career or looking for a place to call their own.
The one gift that I freely give to others everyday is the one gift we all possess, the smile. Happiness is contagious and I can't think of any human being who doesn't seek to be infected by it, I enjoy spreading the sunshine where darkness lurks because without the sunshine nothing grows.
Jackie Lander, Instructor, Massage Therapist
Born and raised in the city of Rockford, Illinois where I remain to this day because I like the Midwest and the gifts of seasonal change.
Life is all about change and the way we are affected by the things we see, the things we do and the people we meet. I believe that people come into our lives for “A Reason, A season, or a Lifetime”. I believe we all have a common bond, a connection, that helps us become who we are today and who we are going to be tomorrow. There are no experiences or people that cross our lives that we weren't meant to grow and learn from. Education is the one constant in all our lives and we can't embrace life and not embrace education. It begins with our first breath and doesn't end until we've completed our missions our purpose for being.
I became a Certified Massage Therapist upon graduation from Kishwaukee Community College in 2000 and began my career at a women's only Spa and work out facilty. In 2005 I was granted licensure by the state of Illinois and opened my own massage business; The Stress Relief Center. My dream was to one day teach the art of massage and in 2007 that dream became a reality. I was the Clinic Director for a school out of Arizona ( ASIS) who partnered with Rock Valley College for a term of four years. Those were the best four years I could have ever asked for as I taught students who were always hungry for the knowledge and experiences that would serve them well either as independent business owners or employees.
